Miss Behaves is truly no skips. Just click play on the first song and watch your life change before your eyes.
In a Paper Magazine interview, she discusses the “unfinished” sound she goes for, wanting to avoid the overly produced, flawlessly mixed, and hyper polished production that is expected in pop music nowadays. I love that approach. Her raw “unfinished” mix is incredibly successful, and it doesn’t sound incomplete to me at all — this is a masterpiece. I have 0 notes.

In addition to her innovative and immaculate production, Cece is also an incredible songwriter and lyricist. Her melodies are catchy and fit her voice perfectly. And her lyrics are fun and sexy. A few lyrics that come to mind are:

  • “I sip my detox tea / In a parking lot at the AMC / Dressed up nice and revealing / ‘Cause I want them to come talk to me” (Ambulance).
  • “I do not listen to this shit, I am too feminine for it / I can’t name anybody here ‘cause it’s music for boys” (Oh Oh).
  • “Red in the face is my inspo” (I get mad).
  • “19, horny, and I’m broke / My wallet’s empty, what you coming over for?” (Tennis Court).
  • “I am back to the real Miss Raunchy Bitch / Unrestricted psycho mess” (Ambulance).

Cece is here to stay, and I can’t wait to see where she goes. If you’re a fan of Charli xcx, Ayesha Erotica, Kim Petras, Heidi Montag, early Lady Gaga, and PinkPantheress, then she’s for you.

My #1 pop artist to watch is Cece Natalie. Her album Miss Behaves has instantly become one of my favorite pop records.

Cece has masterfully found the balance between nostalgia and originality. I’m teleported back to 2010, listening on my iPod with wired headphones on the school bus at 7am. While on one hand it sounds like it was made on the first iMac with GarageBand, it also sounds incredibly fresh and original. She takes the classic EDM pop sound from the 2010’s and adds her own futuristic twist.

Cece was 19-years-old when she released this album. [I am not sure what it is about 19 year-olds releasing masterpiece debut albums… but it’s definitely a trend: Adele, Flo Milli, and Amy Winehouse come to mind]. This Connecticut-based artist produced most of the album herself. Which is especially impressive when you learn that she recorded these songs in her mom’s Kia.
